What are the origins of the National Question in Sri Lanka?

Is there hope for national unity as democratic pluralist society and if so how can it be achieved?

The Sinhalese people are a people with an ethno religious identity. The have been described as a majority with a minority complex. Even if the government is agreeable in principle to devolve power under a federal setup what problems will be faced in getting majority in Parliament and among the people in the event of a referendum?

What do think would be the outcome the current talks with Norwegian backing taking pace in Geneva?

The least that the LTTE wants is Federal state in North- East Sri Lanka with the recognition of the non negotiable principle of self determination underlying it. Is their claim justifiable?

How would you relate the national question to class conflict, social formation and the socio-economic crisis in Sri Lanka?

All articles must use the Chicago style of footnote citation. All footnotes must be placed at the end of the manuscript, Citations within the text of the manuscript are not acceptable. The Chicago style requires a complete citation--author, title, place of publication, publisher, and date of publication--upon first use of a source, and an abbreviated form of citation thereafter, Voice of Voiceless cannot be responsible for completing incomplete citations.

All articles submitted to Voice of Voiceless are sent to the readers for evaluation. Authors should allow four to eight weeks from the date of submission for a final evaluation of the articles.

The author should include a short sentence identification for him/herself.

Figure (charts. graphs, and other artwork) should be in camera-ready form; they cannot be redrawn by the printer. Captions should be provided, and preferred placement of figures indicated in the manuscript.
